Working intuitively, using astrological natal charts of pop icons as a basis to explore the tension between geometric and expressionist forms of abstraction. Each painting is determined by the artist's connection in relation to her own life story (healing physically and spiritually from a broken spine and severe infection from surgery during 2002 to 2004); it is her personal aesthetics which overlay natal birth charts of the likes of: Roger Moore, Sophia Loren, Federico Fellini, the Dalai Lama, Marilyn Monroe, Sidney Poitier, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Andy Warhol, Ursula Andress, Albert Einstein and the list grows...
Influential private individuals and families have also had their natal charts commissioned.
Galileo's Assistant is a series of large scale works on 58 inch diameter plexiglass or Baltic Birch wooden and plexi-glass circular surfaces which float 1 inch from the wall on a stretcher frame giving a lunar impression. New works in this series are phosphorescent in the dark. Currently interactive personal elements involving music and light and touch are being incorporated.
