Swiss Crosses

This series stems from the notion that in Canada as a child it was often taught in schools how Switzerland and Canada were thought to be allies for they are both "anti-war" "democratic" and often "peaceful" in terms of the nation state concept. In my adulthood, having lived in Switzerland for lengths of time I have come to question whether this is true of either country.

Medicine and healing is also a concept true to my life experience in the Health Care System in Canada with my spinal disease and having done illustration work for the Red Cross Canada African Primary Health Care Program in my youth. The artist Joseph Beuys has also been a great influence on my aesthetics since secondary school.
